My first Monarch of the year yesterday at Daniel Boone Park was a nice surprise, first basking in the sun on the powerline cut hill overlooking the saltmarsh and then flying directly overhead and out of sight. I spent about two hours this afternoon in my back yard pulling up garlic mustard to the chittering sound of Chimney Swifts overhead, and also saw an Eastern Comma, a first for my yard.
