Today I visited two spots in Wilson County and one in Johnston County. I
spent ~30 minutes late morning at the Wilson Botanical Gardens. It's a nice
place to find some Wilson Co. butterflies. Part of the garden was closed
for a private event so there may be more to the garden than what I saw.
Early afternoon I spent ~2.5 hours exploring around Wiggins Mill Reservoir.
From what I saw there is one boat ramp by the dam, which appears to be the
only public access to the lake proper, but there is a road that bisects the
upper part of the lake with a few places to park roadside. This part of the
lake is really just a floodplain of Contentnea Creek with a few marshy
areas to explore. I didn't see anything of note but I am sure there is a
Byssus, Yehl, or a Dion Skipper somewhere in this open, marshy area.
Lastly, I stopped the Neuse River @ NC42 in Johnston County for ~15
minutes. My list from each site is below. Good butterflying.

*Wilson Co, Wilson Botanical Gardens* Spicebush Swallowtail 2
