Hi Lisa,

It's hard to count on such a sketchy description. A second brood of Norther=
n Broken Dash is possible, even if not usual. Your account does not mention=
the strong orange ["tawny"] on the leading edge of the forewing, which is =
diagnostic for Tawny-Edged Skipper in our region, so it sounds more like No=
rthern Broken Dash to me.

Please take another look at the field guides, as well as the photos on the =
MBC species pages. Hopefully that will jog your memory. If you become reaso=
nably sure of what you saw, let me know and I'll count it.

Thanks,
Frank

Today:

Skipper : ventral plain brown, dorsal had just a few white specks-- so sor=
ry I didn't get a photo, but I did get a good look. I though at first it l=
ooked most like a broken dash, but I see that is not on the list -- so tawn=
y-edged? There was a probable tawny edge earlier in the summer, that I did=
have a photo of, and folks thought it was that.

Painted Ladies- 9

Yesterday:

Painted Ladies - 5

Monarch - 1 released

Gray Hairstreak - 1

also 2 Black Swallowtails pupating
