Carolina Sandhills NWR

9/3/21, 11:10-4:05

73-82 degrees

=C2=A0

Last year Dave and I visited the same areas at Carolina Sandhills on 9/6 fo=
r approximately the same amount of time with very similar temperatures. Som=
e of the roads had wet spots then, but yesterday it was dry. Last year we r=
ecorded more than 237 Little Yellows, this year none. We also had more Clou=
dless Sulphurs and Sleepy Oranges. Last year we saw 5 species of skippers, =
this year only Silver-spotted. This compares to what others are saying abou=
t lower species numbers and lack of skippers.
