Today we ran the Falmouth (Francis Crane Wildlife Management Area) July
counts. My thanks to all who participated! It is much appreciated.

It was a beautiful day for counts with a bit of clouds starting off, but
quickly turning sunny with temps in the mid to upper 80's and very little
wind.

Six of us broken up between Crane North (route 151) and Crane South (Hayway
Road) counted 743 (approximate with Checkerspot numbers) individual adult
butterflies and 14 individual caterpillars which consisted of 27 adult
species and 5 caterpillar species.

The lists are here. *Note:* The list of Crane South from Joe Dwelly
previously posted here is included at the bottom.

Quick thought: species of note that were missing this year are Little
Glassywing and Eastern Tiger Swallowtail and probably others I am not
thinking of.

I will include all of my photos on the Massachusetts Butterflies Facebook
page.
