On FSR 334 in Laurens County there was significant tree damage along the ro=
adsides and across the trail, most likely due to Helene. Other areas, espec=
ially in Newberry County, were very dry with little nectar. Nectar sources =
found during the day were butterweed, blackberry, lyre-leaf sage and thistl=
es. Last year around this time we found many Hoary Edge, but did not see an=
y on this outing. In attendance were Claudia Strautman, Jerry Griggs, John =
Demko, Ron Ahle, and Marty and Dave Kastner who led.
