Today we went to the Nemasket River Village Archaeological Preserve that I had scouted out a couple weeks ago to give it a good look. The place is pretty darned nice for butterflies! I may even add it as an optional location to go to after Saturday's walk at the Picone Farm if the Conservation Commission can give me permission in time. The place does have a massive amount of both invasive non-native plants and poison ivy (mostly not on the trails) but it also has a lot of different host plants which could be really nice as the season goes on.
5 Zabulon Skippers (3 male, 2 female) 13 Long Dash 22 European Skippers (including 2 mating pairs) 3 Peck's Skippers 10+ Least Skippers 6 Cabbage Whites 3 Red-banded Hairstreaks 1 Monarch 2 Red Admiral caterpillars
