Butterfliers,

Ryan Chaffee and I had a great day of Carolinas Butterfly Monitoring =
Program =
<https://www.jeffpippen.com/butterflies/carolinasbmp/carolinasbmp.htm> =
surveys today in Durham and Orange Counties, NC. Lucy S. also joined us =
for the Durham County survey. Temps were in the mid-upper 80s under =
partly to mostly sunny skies. Scanning patches of mountain-mints and =
milkweeds provided the best rewards, even though many patches seemed =
void of pollinators. We tallied 34 species and 174 individuals, which =
is pretty decent for mid-June in the piedmont! Thanks to Ryan for =
tracking the species and numbers in the field and compiling these lists.
