After the MBS Field Trip, Lauren and I headed over to Miles Standish to see what was flying there.
60+ Edward's Hairstreaks (30+ at each of 2 different locations) 20+ Long Dash 3 Southern Cloudywing 1 Eastern tailed blue 3 Pearl Crescents 4 Little Wood Satyrs 2 Red-spotted Purples and one very odd parade of quite large Mourning Cloak caterpillars (about 6 or 7 of them) marching down the dirt road at 3 cornered pond. We aren't sure where they were heading or more importantly where they came from as there didn't appear to be host plant in the area. They weren't literally one behind another, but they weren't separated by more than a few feet. Just another lep mystery.
