A very good day for butterflies, and a surprising one for us. Lisa and I
stayed home today, and we saw:

1 Dion Skipper
1 Banded Hairstreak
1 Wild Indigo Duskywing
3 Black Swallowtail (1m and 2f, both ovipositing on fennel)
2 Monarch (2f, ovipositing)
1 Spicebush Swallowtail (f, ovipositing on spicebush)
1 Red Admiral
1 American Lady
2 Cabbage White

total: 9 species, 13 individuals

Thank you to the people who responded to the call for ID on the Dion; we
had no idea it would be possible to see one in Arlington. I posted it on
iNaturalist (https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/295791888) if anyone
wishes to confirm the ID.
