Francis Marion National Forest continues to impress with its unrivaled
diversity and abundance in this area.
Road 212 from Highway 45 to forest road 204 (about 5 miles; southern half of
212 is by far the best; we carefully inspected about 1 mile of it). Berkeley
County, SC.

Sylphium sp. (rosinweed) was the main attraction. Black-eyed Susan, Hyptis,
Pickerelweed, Sneezeweed, and loosestrife (Lythrum) were less visited.
This road is one of several parts of the forest that will be covered in the
33rd annual FMNF Count on Sunday August 31.
