Bruce's ranges across the continent from western Canada to Maine, with a Californian population as well. Brumata is an invasive restricted mostly to eastern New England. The Connecticut River Valley is something of a dividing line in Massachusetts. Brumata is spreading westward, however. And, they hybridize.
