Beautiful day here in eastern North Carolina with clear skies and temps in = the upper 60s.=C2=A0 I was pleasantly surprised by a few butterflies that w= ere also enjoying the great weather.=C2=A0 Unless they find overnight roost= s like dense foliage near the ground, this will be their last hurrah. 1 Cloudless Sulphur sunning on the lawn at 11:30 AM1 Gulf Frit doing a fly = by around the greenhouse.1 Cabbage White female laying eggs on collards whi= ch I had potted last month.=C2=A0 In the event the eggs are fertile, I move= d the plants to the greenhouse.Last month I moved several potted tropical m= ilkweeds into the greenhouse not thinking the plants might have Monarch egg= s.=C2=A0 I have 4 little caterpillars.=C2=A0 It won't be long before the re= sident lizards find them as they always do.=C2=A0 However, a feral cat to u= p residency in the greenhouse too so he/she may keep the lizard population = in check. Hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas or whichever holiday your family ce= lebrates.=C2=A0 Next year is going to be a great year... I can feel it in m= y bones.
