Campbell Marine Complex, Sampit River, City of Georgetown, SC March 10, 2026. 2:15- 3:15 pm. Partly sunny, high 70s. Dennis and Wendy Allen Orange Sulphur 3 Cloudless Sulphur 4 Sleepy Orange 2 Pearl Crescent 2 (FOY) Silver-spotted Skipper 2 (FOY) White Checkered-Skipper 3 (FOY, ID from images of these 3 and 5 others not photographed likely also White C-S) Fiery Skipper 1 (female FOY) 1 Orange Sulphur nectaring on Dandelion, one set other on lawn grass, and a 3rd (not photographed) was in flight. Thanks to Dennis Forsythe for confirming that the 2 images on 3/10 and one image from 3/8 were Orange and not Clouded Sulphurs. Other species around or on Henbit, Chickweed, Lesser Hop Trefoil, or white clover but not nectaring. |
