South Tibwin Wildlife Management Area (USFS, SCDNR), Francis Marion National
Forest, south and east of McClellanville on Highway 17
March 11, 2026. 10:00 am - 12:30 pm. Mostly sunny, mid-70s.

Carolina Satyr 4 (FOY, photo ID for 4, saw 5 additional similar small satyrs
but no positive IDs to species)

Except for some Dewberry/Blackberry and Dandelion flowers, very little nectar;
recently burned forest and shoulders.
Many dozens of Yellow-washed Metarranthus Moths flying low across roads and
shoulders. Conspicuous red-orange underwings catch attention every time.
