The Chickasaw Plum is as good as I have seen it in recent years and was very productive. A roadside patch of plum on my route to the Refuge produced 2 Eastern Tiger Swallowtails and 3 FOY Juvenal's Duskywings plus an Azure. I only visited one Longleaf-Pixie Moss site and while I had no trouble locating Brown Elfins I had hoped for more activity given the reports from Weymouth. While working the Pixie Moss for Brown Elfins I had 2 hairstreaks, both Gray Hairstreaks. I came away without my target species, a White-M Hairstreak which I have seen on both Pixie Moss and Chickasaw Plum. One patch of plum near May's Lake produced 2 Great Purple Hairstreaks. A large cluster of Plum in an open field produced a 3rd Great Purple Hairstreak at the tip of a stem over 12 feet above me.
