Dennis and Wendy Allen Zebra Swallowtail 2 (FOY) Eastern Tiger Swallowtail 5 Spicebush Swallowtail 1 (FOY) Palamedes Swallowtail 4 unidentified dark swallowtails 4 Cloudless Sulphur 2 Eastern Tailed-Blue 1 (FOY) American Snout 1 Pearl Crescent 1 Southern Pearly-eye 3 (FOY) Gemmed Satyr 6 (FOY) Carolina Satyr 6 unidentified small satyrs 12 Silver-spotted Skipper 3 Juvenal's Duskywing 19 unidentified duskywings 5 Wild azaleas were being used by Tiger Swallowtails, Palamedes Swallowtails, and Silver-spotted Skippers. Some duskywings on early Horse Sugar flowers, but almost all duskywings, satyrs, and Pearly-eyes set along the trail and adjacent forest litter. Other swallowtails were in flight. |
