I did look for butterflies in the Anson County low gro= unds for about 2 =BD hours under cloudy skies with temps about 70. I did find 2 nectar sources had appeared since my last visit. Low-growing = Rubus have produced bright white blossoms attracting fresh-looking Juvenal'= s Duskywings. There were also large patches of Toadflax in the crop fields= as the farmers who plant crops in the low grounds have not yet applied a w= eed killer to the open fields approaching the Canoe Launch. I also found J= uvenal's in the Toadflax. I am a little embarrassed that there are very fe= w recent reports of Duskywings from Anson County in recent years as I make = frequent visits and tend to overlook them. (It does take time to track the= m down and get to a species and they are without doubt under-reported.) I did not see many Satyrs and the one that allowed me to get a photo was a = Gemmed Satyr.
