I think you meant to say Duskywing sp? -- for the very worn ones. Cloudywings should be just emerging now. 2. I have included all of the checkered-skippers (*Burnsius *species) in NC as Common Checkered-Skippers when I compiled these data, so that the data show on the maps and flight charts. We know that many of the checkered-skippers along the far southern NC counties are now White Checkered-Skippers, based on dissection of genitalia. That includes from Mecklenburg County southeast to Brunswick and Carteret. So, your checkered-skippers COULD be White instead of Common, as Anson lies along the SC state line, but without dissection of male genitalia, and possibly comments on habitat, etc., we just don't know. Jeff Pippen now enters carolina-leps records into the database, and he should continue with this practice, so that folks know that the group is still being reported.
