Harry P (and others),
Here are the two sets of photos that I referred to a day ago when I was away from my computer. These are on iNaturalist, and I THINK they have potential for *Celastrina iryna:*
Bamberg County, April 22, 2026:
https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/352116374
Aiken County, April 18, 2026, IDed as a Summer Azure, but not looking like any I've seen in NC!
https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/350807032
Both have a very smooth blue color above -- almost "smeared smooth", and I do not detect white veins. The second one shows the underside being quite white with barely a few black "pepper dots".
I expect folks can find more worth a check on iNat, by entering "Celastrina" and "South Carolina" in the search.
What do folks say about these?
