My = best find was a robust looking Sandhills Milkweed in a compartment burned i= n early spring. Several of my better butterflies for the day were seen in= a patch of fresh-looking roadside Rubus along my route to the Game Land in= cluding a nectaring Red-spotted Purple, a nectaring Red Admiral, and a late= day fly-in and fresh-looking FOY Viceroy. All the puddling locations I visited had numbers of Spicebush Swallowtails.= Other species, including the expected Cloudywings, were hard to find and = often worn-looking. A worn Silver-spotted Skipper and a handful of Souther= n Cloudywings were my only skippers. Hopefully we will be getting some rai= n over the next few days.
