Lisa Wolfe and I went to MSSF for Blake Dinius' field trip, held in
conjunction with the Friends of Myles Standish State Forest. We were the
only ones from MBC to attend; there were about a dozen people all together
meeting at 1:00 pm.

Conditions were not great. It was cold (low 50s) but felt colder. No sun
and some wind.

Blake spotted one elfin, briefly, not sure of the species but he thought it
might be a Hoary Elfin. We had no other butterfly sightings but we did see
plenty of nature: shreds of what appeared to be hair from a deer, pheasant
feathers, a wolf spider trap, oil beetles. Participants pointed out plants
of interest, including Bird's Foot Violet and Yellow Wild Indigo shoots.
