Santee Delta East, Georgetown County, SC. Walked the 1 mile CBMP route (survey #4) along the wetlands impoundment dike. June 14, 2026. 10:36-11:24 am. Bright but hazy. 88-91 F. Dennis Allen
Gray Hairstreak 1 Gulf Fritillary 2 Variegated Fritillary 1 Red-spotted Purple 1 Viceroy 3 Silver-spotted Skipper 2 White Checkered-Skipper 3 Fiery Skipper 1 Broad-winged Skipper 12
All of the Broad-winged Skippers were on the only 12-15 Pickerelweed flowers seen. The hairstreak was on Duck Potato. The Fiery Skipper and Gulf Fritillarys were on Vervain. Viceroys were around willows with one ovipositing. Silver-spotted Skippers were on Buttonbush. Others were on the road. Conditions remain very dry. The flat top of the dike was recently mowed but the slopes were spared, leaving good potential for emerging wildflowers ahead.
