This Sunday is the first joint MBC-Wayland Conservation Commission field trip. I've been scouting this site for the past few weeks and have seen a great variety and number of butterflies, including Bronze Copper, Eastern Comma, Silver-spotted Skipper, and maybe a dozen others. Trails are flat and mostly well-mowed, or unpaved road. *VERY IMPORTANT: We will be meeting at 10:00 am at the conservation area parking lot off of Moore Road, NOT at Glezen Lane. The response to this trip has been greater than expected, and parking at Glezen Lane is limited. We will meet at Moore Road and carpool to Glezen Lane. Please let me know how many people are in your party, in case we need to split into smaller groups.* If you are planning to go on this trip, please let me know ahead of time. The meeting place has changed from the original trip description, and I am expecting a good number of Wayland folks who are interested in butterflies -- I'll be bringing a couple of spare binoculars just in case. We may need to split into smaller groups, depending on the turnout.
