I've fallen behind on reporting, so I'll try to catch up one location at a time starting with Horn Pond Mountain.
A quick summary of the month at HPM: Kind of slow, not many duskywings at all, but the hairstreaks are out since last week, including Coral, Banded, Gray, and Edward's. I've been seeing them all over the place but only the past few days at the "usual" spot for hairstreaks (on the steep rocky trail with lots of Meadowsweet and New Jersey Tea). Almost no larger butterflies, and the top of the mountain is rather bare of flowers.
