Santee Delta East, Georgetown County, SC. walked the 1.0-mile Carolina Butterfly Monitoring Program route. Survey #6. July 7, 2026. 10:28-11:16 am. Full sun and 90 F. Dennis Allen.
Black Swallowtail 1 Palamedes Swallowtail 1 Red-banded Hairstreak 1 Gulf Fritillary 9 Variegated Fritillary 1 Pearl Crescent 1 Common Buckeye 1 Red-spotted Purple 1 Viceroy 1 Hackberry Emperor 1 Silver-spotted Skipper 9 White Checkered-Skipper 1 Clouded Skipper 5 Least Skipper 1 Delaware Skipper 1 Rare Skipper 2 Broad-winged Skipper 5
Dry and not many flowers in bloom. Some Gulf Fritillary on Vervain and most around Passion Flowers. Both swallowtails and all skippers on the very few Pickerelweeds in bloom, except for Delaware Skipper on Marsh Mallow. R-b Hairstreak, Viceroy, Variegated Fritillary, and Checkered-Skipper on roadside leaves. Hackberry Emperor and Common Buckeye were on the road.
