Pondberry Bay is a State-owned preserve that is a game land, any thus is pub=
licly accessible. It is several thousand acres and has a great diversity of=
habitats, including Longleaf pine stands. I=E2=80=99ve seen lots of rare sp=
ecies over the years. It=E2=80=99s along White Woods Road east of Roseboro a=

any public natural areas. I drove through the town of Clinton, stopping at p=
atches of nectar sources, which were mainly patches of Lantana and Verbena b=
rasiliensis. Most of the butterflies, especially the grass skippers, were se=
en on the Lantana at the entrance of Sampson County Community College and at=
an elementary school in town, and at a vacant lot in town with a lot of the=
tall Verbena. My list is below. Good butterflying.
