Je= fferson Conservation Area, Hubbardston This conservation area features several roadside fields and wooded paths an= d trails. We can usually expect a good variety of butterfly and bird specie= s (although we're not making any promises during this fickle year!)=C2=A0= =C2=A0We=E2=80=99ll initially look and listen for late-summer breeding bird= species and their fledglings, as well as unexpected birds that may already= have dispersed from their usual nesting areas. If/when the sun warms the l= andscape, we should start to see butterflies foraging in the fields. There = are opportunities to use shaded areas if it becomes uncomfortably hot.
