I just vetted the photo as Research Grade, though I'm sure Salman (Abdulali) or a handful of other reviewers would have done the same any hour now, as the species is easy to identify. Most photo reviewers tend to leave many of the skippers to me to confirm -- for better or worse! But, thankfully other reviewers get to vetting true butterflies quicker than I do. I typically spend about 10-15 minutes each evening reviewing the numerous photos on iNaturalist for North Carolina. This is still a very slow period -- late June and July are very slow for diversity, and we do get very tired of photos of E. Tiger Swallowtails, Silver-spotted Skippers, Fiery Skippers, and a few others. Nice to see some hairstreaks, marsh skippers, pearly-eyes, and other less common things posted there. And, remember, I/we DO take the less common records posted on iNaturalist and add them to the Butterflies of North Carolina website, every few weeks. ALL of the records posted to this Carolinaleps listserve DO still get added to the website, but owing to a huge volume of common species on iNaturalist, we (Jeff Pippen, Tom Howard, and I) decided a few years ago not to flood the BNC website with all of these records and just choose the less common ones or ones that had not been reported in that county for 10 or more years.
