Subject: from the north central South Carolina coast

Santee Delta East, Georgetown County, SC. CBMP survey #8. Walked 1.0 mile on
the impoundment dike that starts at the Highway 17 parking lot.
July 28, 2026. 10:23 am - 12:10 pm. Sunny, 86 F.

Black Swallowtails and some Gulf Fritillaries were on Vervain. Delaware,
Broad-winged, and Silver-spotted Skippers were on the <10 Pickerelweed flowers
seen. Cutleaf Coneflower (Rudebeckia lacinata) was conspicuous but no
butterflies were among the 100+ flowers. Most fritillaries were around a patch
of Passionflower. Most others settling on grass or road but not nectaring.
