Carl loved nature and the outdoors and inspired others to appreciate the=20 world of butterflies, birds and all other living creatures. A former=20 president of the Massachusetts Butterfly Club, he lead walks and shared=20 his enthusiasm for the natural world. He loved music. * From Alyce Mayo: It is with deep sorrow that I write to inform you of the passing of Carl=20 H. Kamp following a long battle with Alzheimer=E2=80=99s; hiker, birder,=20 butterflier, nature enthusiast, owner of Union Music whose life=E2=80=99s w= ork=20 was the enhancement of music in the personal lives of countless people=20 (many generations in Worcester, MA). Carl was not only a passionate promoter of owning musical instruments,=20 but holding dear the joys that they provided. He inspired countless=20 children with their first instruments, and new and returning adults as=20 well. His grandfather who founded Union Loan Company, a pawnshop over=20 one hundred years ago, gave Carl his first guitar at age 9, and Carl=20 jumped into the family business from that age on=E2=80=A6 later renaming it= =20 Union Music. Carl lived a life that showed us the way to embrace one=E2=80=99s passions,= =20 which he did through his work at Union Music, his classical guitar=20 performances, and his life=E2=80=99s pursuits. He climbed Mount Kilimanjaro= . He=20 visited the Monarch Sanctuary in Mexico City. He promoted the love of=20 nature and butterflying as President of the MA Butterfly Club, a chapter=20 of the North American Butterfly Association. He led memorable butterfly=20 walks in Royalston and other parts of MA. He was also a charter member=20 of the Millers River Morris Men, a local Morris dancing team reviving=20 Old English Folk Dancing. Carl loved nature and the outdoors and inspired others to appreciate the=20 world of butterflies, birds and all other living creatures. He so=20 enjoyed teaching people about music and the environment;=20 quietly=E2=80=A6patiently and with devotion. He was a kind and caring man and I cherish the twenty-six years we had=20 together.
