I walked the CarBMP route on Chowan Swamp Game near the Wiccacon River in Hertford Co., NC yesterday with sunny, calm conditions and temps in the low 90's deg F. There was a considerable uptick in numbers and diversity from my last survey on Jul 30; the highlight yesterday was a Great Purple Hairstreak after not seeing one on that route since September 2025. There was some nectaring observed, almost all at sneezeweed and *Eupatorium rotundifolium*, both of which were flowering in abundance. List below, including individuals observed incidental to the survey.
