Campbell Marine Complex, Sampit River, City of Georgetown, SC. Walked around lawns and edges of side roads. About I/4 acre and 1/2 mile. August 19, 2026. 10:20- 11:20 am. Sunny, 93 F. Dennis Allen Cloudless Sulphur 8 Sleepy Orange 1 Gray Hairstreak 3 Gulf Fritillary 1 Pearl Crescent 1 Painted Lady 1 Horace's Duskywing 1 White Checkered-Skipper 8 unidentified checkered-skippers 3 Clouded Skipper 5 Least Skipper 1 Fiery Skipper 32 Whirlabout 4 Delaware Skipper 9 Broad-winged Skipper 3 Dun Skipper 2 Cloudless Sulphurs in flight except one nectaring deep inside Marsh Mallow flower. Sleepy Orange, Gulf Fritillary, one Gray Hairstreak, some Delaware and one Broad-winged Skippers on Vervain. Least Skipper on grass. All other skippers, hairstreaks, Painted Lady, Horace's Duskywing, were nectaring on Frogfruit. |
