Yates no longer has blooming Pickerelweed at a wooded pool, but this morning the marsh at the second bridge had an abundance of Virgin's-bower (Clematis virginiana) in full bloom -- a major butterfly nectar magnet. Here are my totals from about 8:40 - 10:30 under sunny, warm, and somewhat humid skies; we did have a few tenths of an inch of rain on Friday night, but not the deluge much of NC had on Friday. E.
