Good evening butterfliers,
Today, Jeff Pippen and I went to Holly Shelter Game Land, where Jeff co-led a walk with the NC Native Plant Society - SE Coastal Chapter! The walk was very successful, finding lots of carnivorous plants and pine flatwood/savannah specialists. Afterwards, Jeff and I explored the game land briefly before unfortunately getting rained out in the afternoon. Here is our list:
- Palamedes Swallowtail - *89* - Eastern Tiger Swallowtail - 2
- Cloudless Sulphur - 8 - Sleepy Orange - 2
- Gray Hairstreak - 2 - Eastern Tailed-Blue - 1
- *Little Metalmark <https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/394224437> - 5*
- Monarch - 2 - Common Buckeye - 17 - Pearl Crescent - 20 - Painted Lady <https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/394223823> - 1
- Southern Cloudywing - 2 - Horace's Duskywing - 1 - Fiery Skipper - 5 - Whirlabout - 2 - Clouded Skipper - 1 - Swarthy Skipper - 1 - Tawny-edged Skipper <https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/394225766> - 2 - Southern Broken-dash <https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/394223909> - 1
