The two photos that I see on iNat look fine for a Northern Broken-dash
female. No hint of orange on the forewing above, and below the wide and
even spot band/arc is better for Northern than Southern, which is usually
narrower and typically has a 3-shape with a longer spot or two in the
middle. Checking records for Franklin, I saw several at this game land by
me in 2003-2004, so this is a first since 2004.

Inote that another veteran reviewer has already vetting the sighting, but
I'll add mine and comments as well.

Great find, as well as all of the Zaruccos and the Laura's Clubtail (would
have been a lifer for me).

thern Broken-dash female. No hint of orange on the forewing above, and belo=
w the wide and even spot band/arc is better for Northern than Southern, whi=
ch is usually narrower and typically has a 3-shape with a longer spot or tw=
o in the middle.=C2=A0 Checking records for Franklin, I saw several at this=
game land by me in 2003-2004, so this is a first since 2004.</div><div><br=

utterflies with 29 species and 500+ individuals, but grass skippers were in=
surprisingly short supply. The find of the day, however, was a <b><a href=
=3D"https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/395368892" originalSrc=3D"http=
s://www.inaturalist.org/observations/395368892" target=3D"_blank">Laura&#39=
;s Clubtail</a> </b>that Lori found, a fantastic find for the eastern Piedm=
ont, the second Franklin County record ever, and the first since 1973 (Than=
