Hobcaw Barony, Georgetown County, SC. Walked two areas: Victory Garden and Clambank Landing. September 2, 2026. between 10:30 am - 1:45 pm, but only about 30 minutes at each site. sunny and 89 F. Dennis Alln, Pat and Clay Sutton Palamedes Swallowtail 14 Cloudless Sulphur 26 Sleepy Orange 4 Gray Hairstreak 2 Eastern Pygmy-Blue 1 Gulf Fritillary 17 Pearl Crescent 5 Common Buckeye 2 Carolina Satyr 1 Monarch 2 Long-tailed Skipper 2 Horace's Duskywing 6 Zarucco Duskywing 2 Clouded Skipper 1 Fiery Skipper 4 Delaware Skipper 25 Broad-winged Skipper 5 Dun Skipper 3 Salt Marsh Skipper estimated 150 Saltmarsh Skippers and Eastern Pygmy-Blue were on a ~20 sq. meter patch of Frogfruit on a mowed lot adjacent to the salt marsh. Impossible to get an accurate account. All others were on a large patch of planted zinnias in the forest (except about one half of the Cloudless Sulphurs in flight). |
