But I'm recovering from surgery so I had to keep my activity to a minimum. The fields were full of butterflies. I'm not particularly good at estimating these large numbers, but in all I would say 150 to 200 mix of cabbage whites, clouded sulphurs and orange sulphurs. Maybe evenly distributed 1/3 of each, or maybe cabbage whites with a slight edge? Sorry I can't be more accurate. Two finds I was able to photograph with my phone are posted on iNat: 1 (possibly 2) Variegated Fritillary 1 Common Checkered Skipper which totally surprised me because I've never seen it here but have seen it many times in the Southwest. The photo is not a good representation of what I saw.
