--000000000000286514065c61c29a Content-Type: text/plain; charset="UTF-8" Back on 9/20, Elisa and the kids joined as I walked the CarBMP route on Chowan Swamp Game Land near the Wiccacon R. in Hertford Co., NC. Some nectar sources like joe-pye-weed and some of the Eupatorium's were pretty much past, but there was plenty of nectaring at other things like Lespedeza's, mistflower, and Bidens. The highlights included Great Purple Hairstreak and my first Yehl Skipper on this route for the year. After the survey we headed east and were able to see the Smith's Longspur at Mackay Island NWR in Currituck Co.; it was almost dark at that point so only a few butterflies were observed.
