I was fooled by the weather forecast yesterday, so I didn't realize it would be perfect weather this morning -- I went back to the Food Project fields in Lincoln and saw:
Cabbage White, Clouded and Orange Sulphur: many of each, again 17 Variegated Fritillary 2 American Lady 1 Common Ringlet 7 Monarch 1 Black Swallowtail
As I was leaving, I ran into Gary Kessler and Annie, as well as Judd and Amy from New Hampshire. They saw some Monarchs and Variegated Fritillaries near the parking area; I'd seen 12 frits on my own, added to the 5 that the others saw. Likewise, the number of Monarchs included several I saw by myself and 3-4 the others saw.
I went with Judd and Amy to Sedge Meadow in Wayland to look for Bronze Copper, but almost all the goldenrod there was finished, so we did not see much. From my notes, we saw:
3 Monarch 1 Black Swallowtail 1 Peck's Skipper 5 Sulphur (sp) 5+ Cabbage White
