Butterfliers,

Mary Jo Clancy and I conducted a couple of the Mebane, NC (Alamance =
County) survey routes for the Carolinas Butterfly Monitoring Program =
today. One of these routes courses through a small butterfly garden =
installed by the city a couple of years ago, which is still attracting =
myriad butterflies and other pollinators! Here are our findings:

Cabbage White, 1
Cloudless Sulphur, 5
Sleepy Orange, 8
Red-banded Hairstreak, 1
Eastern Tailed-Blue, 2
Monarch, 2
Variegated Fritillary, 5
Pearl Crescent, 9
American Lady, 4
Painted Lady, 1
Common Buckeye, 2
Carolina Satyr, 1
Silver-spotted Skipper, 1
Common Checkered-Skipper, 14
Clouded Skipper, 8
Fiery Skipper, 33
Sachem, 3
Ocola Skipper, 5

Good Butterflying,
Jeff
