I just noticed a photograph by Kathy Biggs of a Sympetrum danae in
California. It shows the costa is yellow, as do her other photographs. In
Europe the costa is dark.

Are there any subspecies described? I tried looking at the IUCN page for
the species, but there doesn't seem to be such a page! The World Odonata
list (Schorr & Paulson) doesn't list any subspecies synonyms.
