Laurens October Derby List:

Got a late start and started Butterfly-watching on Monday (ACTUALLY, I=20
stopped by Oak Knoll Wildlife Sanctuary in Attleboro on the 1st and their=
=20
garden had NO butterflies). I also have been seeing American Ladies with=
=20
the lady swarm. I clearly saw the two eye-spots on the undersides and I=20
realized that the American lady is much duller and often noticeably smaller=
=20
than the Painted. I did take a photo of an American in case a The=20
highest number of Americans was at Nasketucket, perhaps there is a lot of=
=20
larval food there.

=20

First I stopped by Helfand Farm Community Gardens in Dartmouth, my dreams=
=20
of resisting the common checkered skipper that i saw there were not realize=

Then I headed over to Nasketucket Bay Reserve, no leps on the trail but the=
=20
field did produce many! I started to walk past the field but since they had=
=20
recently mown the edges there wasnt much for them so I turned back to teh=
=20
field. The angled trail that goes back there is where I had the skippers=

and tthe Red Admiral. =20

Lastly I headed to Fort Pheonix as I felt it was my duty to put up some=20
Fairhaven numbers, there were almost 100 ladies in a small area and lots=20
Monarchs there. As I was leaving I noticed small area of fall aster was=20
hopping with species and scored an Ocola and my second Grey Hairstreak.
