Subject: [MassLep] Harvesters, Black Swallowtail caterpillars 7/25

Yesterday I was encouraged to find 5 Harvesters along the eastern edge of t=
he Lower Mystic Lake in Medford. There were also a couple alder trees with =
heavy colonies of woolly alder aphids in the wooded area near the driveway =
to the dam, so any larvae should be well-fed.

At home, there are 4 Black Swallowtail caterpillars munching in my vegetabl=
e garden - 2 on dill and 2 on Italian parsley. (Rabbits have eaten all my b=
ush beans, and squirrels have cut down all the pears, which they share with=
the rabbits and chipmunks, so I=E2=80=99m feeding everyone.)
