Subject: [MassLep] Broad Meadow Brook MAS, Worcester, Ma 8/8/2019

As Saturday is the Barbara Walker Butterfly Festival at Broad Meadow
Brook MAS in Worcester and the Massachusetts Butterfly Club will be
participating in the activities there from 10am to 4pm, I scouted the
Sanctuary from 12:50 to 3:30pm today in warm mostly sunny weather and saw:

1. Around the visitors center on Massasoit Road (around 20 minutes):

Cabbage White - 5

American Lady - 1

Monarch - 2

Peck's Skipper - 2

2. Cardinal and Powerline Trails and the Troiano Trail (about 2 hours):

Eastern Tiger Swallowtail - 3

Cabbage White - 6

Summer Azure - 1

Viceroy - 3

Common Buckeye - 1

Common Wood Nymph - 3

Monarch - 2

Broad-winged Skipper - 3

Peck's Skipper - 9

Tawny-edged Skipper - 3

Little Glassywing - 1

The good news is that the very small patch of Joe Pye-Weed that the
Leonard's Skippers have been using the past several years is still there
and starting to bloom. Maybe in a few more weeks.
