Subject: [MassLep] Yard Report Billerica 12 Aug 2019
Flitting around in the flowering oregano the past several days in my
front yard have been around half a dozen small skippers, probably
Peck's.?? One silver-spotted skipper was perching on a leaf of the
tallest chokecherries.?? Yesterday there was an eyed butterfly in the
oregano, along with the skippers.?? There have been two or more cabbages
whites most days, and I forget which day a monarch came through....
Yesterday I saw a tiger swallowtail at Griggs' Farm, the people there
reported seeing red admirals and enough monarchs that they're not paying
a whole lot of attention to them now.?? There was a mourning cloak there
a few days ago. Other butterflies the staff mentioned include admirals.
