On Saturday, September 21, I spent the day in the area around the Cape
Hatteras Lighthouse in Buxton, NC. I spent the first part of the afternoon
at the site where the lighthouse used to be, around the pond. The only
butterflies I saw there were 40 Phaon Crescents. The last of the afternoon
was spent at the area around the Salt Pond, near the campgrounds. The
highlights there were 45 more Phaons and two Eufala Skippers. A quick
walk-through of the trail at Buxton Woods yielded 2 Red Admirals and a
Question Mark. Pics of a Eufala Skipper and a Phaon Crescent can be seen
here, https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__www.flickr.com_photos_61962421-40N05_&d=DwIBaQ&c=imBPVzF25OnBgGmVOlcsiEgHoG1i6YHLR0Sj_gZ4adc&r=AW6ynNwqMRYOC5_V-OXupeOzu1c7t6wxY89gEYYgxa4&m=30-Z1pwjiEJaKr97ftxvqDaTBMofk6Zf1SReWLKQxgQ&s=kwvIm0LQ3AZA3KF-gMNyq-BgdGdHKzhnAj1k5WfTPes&e= .
