Doug:

Your last photo is a Common Green Darner. It is a numerous species that
flies for most of the year, except of course in the deep winter months. So
-- not early. As for Eastern Pondhawk -- please keep them all south of
NC, if possible!! They gobble up so many butterflies that you folks can
have them! I'll let others check the damselflies.

To upload a photo on the NC odonate website, you must provide the record
data first, and as that site is only for NC records, you can't enter
records there except for NC. Sorry. No -- South Carolina does not have a
similar website for data entry. Folks interesting in submitting NC records
to the website, see that website; there is info on how to do this on the
Home Page:

And, someone asked a few days ago --no, there is not a similar listserve
for odonates for the Carolinas. There is one for Southeastern Odonates,
though people do not submit their observations there except for very rare
species or other issues of interest. There is a Facebook group or two for
Carolina odonates where people post a few photos, and post a few notes of
interest. A few other folks can chime in on these things.
