Subject: [MassLep] South Gulf Road Belchertown, 5/20
Karl and I walked the wooded path at the end of South Gulf Road and saw:
2 Mourning Cloaks having an in-flight battle
1 Black Swallowtail (in a sunny spot of the wooded path nectaring on
lowbush blueberry. The path is on the ridge of a hill.)
We also saw a moose which, thankfully, was frightened of us and ran the
other direction! and a Giant Leopard Moth caterpillar,.
2:15-3:00, sunny, around 70, 5/20, Belchertown.
Elise and Karl
