On this past Saturday four club members, including two new members, waited
for the sun to come out at Appleton Farms. One and a half hours into the
walk the sun did come out and the butterflies with it. Almost immediately
the butterflies emerged from the grass and bordering hedgerows.

We saw:
2 Silver-bordered fritillary
1 Fiery skipper
35+ Pearl crescent
50+ Clouded sulphur - stopped counting
6 Orange sulphur - mostly well worn
50+ Cabbage white - mostly on the fields of Brassicas

After the walk ended one of the members stayed longer and did see 1 Bronze
copper and 1 Eastern-tailed blue.

Asters of several kinds were plentiful and the primary flowers the
butterflies were on.
